Abstract:  Dart

Eric Clayberg, co-founder of Instantiations #2 (acquired by Google in 2010) and Instantiations #3 (the latest instantiation), is the Engineering Manager for the Google Web Toolkit (GWT) and Dart Editor projects at Google and Project Lead for the WindowBuilder project at Eclipse.org. He is a seasoned software technologist, product developer, entrepreneur, author, and manager with more than 21 years of Smalltalk experience going back to Smalltalk/V. He has been responsible for creating more than a dozen commercial Java, Eclipse and Smalltalk products including the WindowBuilder Pro, WidgetKits, and VA Assist product lines. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from MIT and an MBA from Harvard.

One of our key goals with Dart is 'toolability', and as the person leading our tooling work, Eric is a key player in the development of Dart. With his extensive Smalltalk background he is a great person to be able to talk to a Smalltalk audience about Dart, the things that are inspired from Smalltalk, and the things it does differently. –Lars Bak, Google Inc.
