Classes in the Mist

Martin McClure

The open-source Mist Project aims to produce a non-traditional implementation of a Smalltalk variant. Mist executes with no virtual machine, values simplicity, and can completely compile itself with no support from another language such as C. This talk summarizes the project’s goals and strategy, and explores Mist’s way of creating classes and objects, which differs from traditional Smalltalk implementations at several key points.
